NetMon 5.0.3 Release Notes - 1 October 2025
Welcome to NetMon 5.0.3! This version continues to improve upon the 5.0.0 release by adding new security enhancements to better protect your NetMon credentials and user identities.
What’s new in NetMon 5.0.3:
Introduction of Secret Store to improve backend security
New Features
Secret Store
Using industry best practices, NetMon has been updated to use a secret store to help better protect internal keys and passwords used by the NetMon platform, greatly enhancing the security of the product.
When upgrading to NetMon 5.0.3, the SSL certificate for the web UI is replaced with a new self-signed certificate (SSL). If you customize this SSL, be sure to backup your SSL certificate. For more information, refer to Utilize a Custom SSL Certificate.
DPA rules are disabled during NetMon upgrades. Be sure to take a note of what is enabled before upgrading. For more information, refer to Manage Deep Packet Analytics Rules.
Important NetMon 5.0.3 Upgrade Process
Before upgrading to NetMon 5.0.3, you must be running NetMon 5.0.2. However, if you are on an older version of NetMon, you can use the 5.0.3 ISO to re-install your NetMon appliance, but you cannot upgrade from a version of NetMon prior to 5.0.2 directly to NetMon 5.0.3.
Upgrade from 5.0.2 to 5.0.3
Refer to the Upgrade NetMon Software section for information on upgrading NetMon directly from version 5.0.2 to 5.0.3.
Install NetMon 5.0.3
If installing/re-imaging to NetMon 5.0.3 from a version prior to 5.0.0, refer to the Install NetMon section of our documentation for the complete process.
