NetMon 5.0.6 Release Notes - 1 July 2026

Welcome to NetMon 5.0.6! This version continues to improve upon the 5.0.0 release by upgrading third-party open source tools and enhancing backend security to ensure that NetMon continues to be a reliable and effective tool for you to use.

Enhancements

Third-Party License Upgrades

In this release, many of the NetMon third-party open source tools were upgraded to more recent versions to ensure that NetMon remains up-to-date, safe, and effective for our customers.

The following tools received upgrades in this release:

• expat

• less

• libndp

• kernel, kernel-core, kernel-headers, kernel-modules, kernel-modules-core, kernel-tools, and kernel-tools-libs

• python-unversioned-command, python3, python3-libs, python3-idna, and python3-tkinter

• vim-minimal

• NetworkManager-initscripts-updown

• openssl and openssl-libs

• java-1.8.0-openjdk, java-1.8.0-openjdk-devl, and java-1.8.0-openjdk-headless

• libnghttp2

• glib2

Important NetMon 5.0.6 Upgrade Process

Before upgrading to NetMon 5.0.6, you must be running NetMon 5.0.5. However, if you are on an older version of NetMon, you can use the 5.0.6 ISO to re-install your NetMon appliance, but you cannot upgrade from a version of NetMon prior to 5.0.5 directly to NetMon 5.0.6.

Upgrade from 5.0.5 to 5.0.6

Refer to the Upgrade NetMon Software section for information on upgrading NetMon directly from version 5.0.5 to 5.0.6.

Install NetMon 5.0.6

If installing/re-imaging to NetMon 5.0.6 from a version prior to 5.0.0, refer to the Install NetMon section of our documentation for the complete process.
