NetMon 5.0.0 Release Notes - 21 January 2025
Welcome to NetMon 5.0.0! NetMon has been migrated to a new operating system in order to stay up-to-date and to give users the best experience possible. In order to move NetMon to this new operating system, a fresh installation of NetMon is required.
What’s new in NetMon 5.0.0:
Operating system has been migrated from CentOS to Rocky Linux.
Various UI enhancements and updates to branding.
Questions Regarding NetMon 5.0.0
Can my current version of NetMon be upgraded to the new version?
No, NetMon version 5.0.0 requires a re-installation of the NetMon product. Due to the drastic changes in operating systems, an upgrade will not sufficiently bring all the new features into the product.
Will I lose my settings and/or data in this migration?
Yes, the re-installation of NetMon will cause all settings and data to be reset. You will need to backup items such as dashboards, rules, and PCAP files before installing NetMon 5.0.0. For more information, review the Backup NetMon Components guide.
Can I keep the PCAPs NetMon has captured?
Yes, you can manually offload PCAPs and export the details of the PCAP mapping files. For more information, review the Backup NetMon Components guide.
