NetMon 5.0.2 Release Notes - 1 July 2025

Welcome to NetMon 5.0.2! This version continues to improve upon the 5.0.0 release by adding a new JSON-formatted syslog option that makes logs easier to parse and enhances integration with observability platforms.

JSON-formatted Syslog

The ability to send syslog messages in a structured JSON format helps to improve integration with modern observability tools and allows for more flexible deployment environments, all while maintaining compliance with security practices.

Important NetMon 5.0.2 Upgrade Process

Before upgrading to NetMon 5.0.2, you must be running NetMon 5.0.1. However, if you are on an older version of NetMon, you can use the 5.0.2 ISO to re-install your NetMon appliance, but you cannot upgrade from a version of NetMon prior to 5.0.1 directly to NetMon 5.0.2.

Install the Tar Utility

If your NetMon version is 5.0.0 and you want to upgrade to version 5.0.2, you must first upgrade to version 5.0.1. Before uploading the lrp package and upgrading from 5.0.0 to 5.0.1, it is necessary to install the tar utility.

To install the tar utility:

1. Connect to the NetMon appliance over SSH as the user logrhythm.

2. Run the following command:

sudo dnf install tar

Upgrade from 5.0.1 to 5.0.2

Install NetMon 5.0.2
