Disaster Recovery Installation Checklist
This checklist can be used to record your progress throughout the process of installing a LogRhythm Disaster Recovery deployment.
LogRhythm Disaster Recovery Installation Checklist
Prerequisites
[ ] Verify matching LogRhythm software versions on both Primary and Secondary sites
[ ] Disable "Enable Password Policy" on LogRhythm SIEM user account
[ ] Configure service accounts (SQL Server, SQL Agent, LogRhythm Service Registry) as domain accounts with local admin rights
[ ] Verify matching drive letter layouts and SQL paths on both servers
[ ] Configure network interfaces:
[ ] Static IPs for management access
[ ] Secondary IPs for Failover Cluster
[ ] Optional dedicated replication interfaces
[ ] Open required firewall ports between sites
[ ] Verify DNS requirements and Active Directory domain membership
[ ] Ensure sufficient disk space for database backups
Secondary Platform Manager Setup
[ ] Extract DR zip file locally
[ ] Run DR_Setup as administrator
[ ] Enter SQL Sysadmin credentials
[ ] Select "Secondary" option
[ ] Configure replication addresses and ports
[ ] Set Recovery Point Objective (RPO)
[ ] Install Windows Failover Clustering
[ ] Wait for setup to complete
Primary Platform Manager Setup
[ ] Extract DR zip file locally
[ ] Run DR_Setup as administrator
[ ] Enter SQL Sysadmin credentials
[ ] Select "Primary" option
[ ] Configure Failover Cluster IPs
[ ] Configure replication addresses
[ ] Select databases to replicate
[ ] Select backup folder
[ ] Set Recovery Point Objective
[ ] Complete installation and database restoration
Infrastructure Reinstallation
[ ] Run LogRhythm Install Wizard on Primary server
[ ] Select "Yes" for Disaster Recovery deployment
[ ] Add Management IPs as separate hosts
[ ] Create deployment package
[ ] Run Host Installer on Primary
[ ] Copy package to Secondary host
[ ] Run installer with /dr-secondary parameter
[ ] Verify successful completion
Post-Installation Tasks
[ ] Reboot all machines
[ ] Complete SPN Registration for domain
[ ] Test failover scenario
[ ] Test failback scenario
XM Environment Additional Steps (if applicable)
[ ] Create new Data Processor record in Deployment Manager
[ ] Configure Data Indexer with unique cluster name
[ ] Create additional AI Engine server if running AIE
