Verify Windows Authentication is Enabled in IIS

If you are using Windows Application Account Settings, then you need to enable it by following the steps in this section. For more information, see Initialize Users in the Web Configuration.

1. On the Web Service API server, open the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.

2. Select the LogRhythm Web Site.

3. In the Features view, open Authentication.

4. Make sure the following are enabled:

   • Anonymous Authentication

   • Basic Authentication

   • Windows Authentication

   Other methods should be disabled.

5. Select Windows Authentication and select Providers.
   “Negotiate” should be at the top of the list.

6. Select Windows Authentication, and then Advanced Settings.

7. Make sure Enable Kernel-mode authentication is selected.

8. Verify you can browse to:

   https://<fully-qualified-host-name>/LogRhythm.API/Services/AlarmServiceBasicAuth.svc
