SOAP API Installation (LogRhythm 7.x.x)

LogRhythm 7.8 was the last published version of the SOAP API. LogRhythm is deprecating the SOAP API in favor of more effective and sustainable integration through RESTful APIs. While the SOAP API is still usable in 7.9, we encourage customers and partners using the SOAP API to migrate their integrations to REST APIs. For more information on REST integration, see our REST API documentation.

The LogRhythm SOAP API is a component that allows customers to extend the LogRhythm solution or integrate it with other systems. This document describes the steps required to install and configure the LogRhythm SOAP API.

The LogRhythm SOAP API must be installed on a separate system from the LogRhythm appliances. Installing the LogRhythm SOAP API on an appliance is not recommended nor supported.

Prerequisites

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 or Server 2012 R2. Standard or Enterprise editions

LogRhythm does not plan to support more recent versions of Windows Server for the SOAP API.

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0. Full installation, not client profile
  • A configured LogRhythm deployment with access to the LogRhythm EMDB SQL Server database on port 1433
  • LogRhythm API Gateway and Service Registry. These services are installed by the LogRhythm Infrastructure Installer. For more information see the LogRhythm Installation or Upgrade Guides on the LogRhythm Community.

The LogRhythm SOAP API installer installs and configures Internet Information Services (IIS). IIS may be installed before running the LogRhythm SOAP API installer, but additional features may be added and configuration changes made to the server.
