Add Roles and Features Through Server Manager



This procedure only applies to Windows Server 2012 R2. These roles and features are applied automatically in Windows Server 2008 R2.

  1. Start the Server Manager on your machine.
  2. In the menu on the left, select the server to administer. This is most likely Local Server.
  3. In the menu at the upper right of the Roles and Features section, select Add Roles and Features.
  4. Click Next until the Features option in the menu on the left is highlighted, and then click Features.
  5. Click the arrow to expand .NET Framework that matches the version you installed during the Install the API procedure or the version previously installed.
  6. Select the ASP.NET check box.
  7. Click the arrow to expand the .WCF Services under .NET Framework.
  8. Select the HTTP Activation check box. You can also add non-HTTP types, such as Named Pipe and TCP, if you need them.
  9. Click Install.
  10. After the services have been installed, reboot the system for the changes to take effect.
