Axon Agents

Administrator permissions are required to access this feature.

Axon Agents perform on-premises log data collection. They are installed on an endpoint and collect logs from on-premises devices where cloud collection is not supported. Axon Agents currently support collection on both Windows and Linux platforms.

Users create an agent profile in Axon Integrations and specify what collections they want the Agent to perform. Upon creating the agent profile, users can download and install it on multiple devices to create Axon Agent collectors.  

Supported Operating Systems

The following operating systems are supported by Axon Agent.

Windows Event Log Powershell channels are not supported on this version of Windows.  Selection of these channels may prevent the Axon Agent from starting.

The minimum system requirements for installing and running an Axon Agent are as follows:

  • 2 GB RAM
  • 2 cores
  • Supported 64-bit Operating System (See above)
  • Open HTTPS port 443 OUTBOUND (no inbound traffic required)
  • 500 MB disk space

View Axon Agents

  1. In the lower-left corner of the main screen, click the Administration cog icon.
    The Administration menu appears on the left side.
  2. Under Integrations, click Agents.
    By default, the list of agent profiles appears. The table shows the following information for each agent profile:

    Profile NameThe name of the agent profile with a link to its details page.
    OSThe operating system the agents within the profile can connect to.
    VersionThe version changes when a user modifies the agent profile and publishes the changes.
    AgentsThe number of agents associated with the profile.

  3. To view lists of active and retired agents, click the corresponding tabs.
