Update Client Security Settings

This section describes how you can modify client security settings that control the login banner, session timeout, and minimum password length.

You can only change these settings if you are logged in as the admin user.

  1. Open the NetMon Web Management interface.
  2. On the top navigation bar, click Configuration, and then click the Client Security tab.
  3. Change any of the parameters, as described in the following tables.

    Authorization Warning EnabledEnables or disables the display of the authorization warning message before a user logs in to NetMon.
    Authorization Warning TitleThe title to be displayed in the authorization warning message.
    Authorization Warning MessageThe body of the authorization warning message.
    Session Timeout EnabledEnables or disables the NetMon session timeout. If a session is left idle for the period of time specified in Session Timeout (Minutes), the user is logged out automatically.
    Session Timeout (Minutes)The session timeout period, in minutes. If the timeout is enabled and a session is left idle for this period of time, the user is logged out automatically.
    Minimum Password LengthSpecifies the minimum number of characters for any NetMon user.

    Share Usage Statistics with LogRhythm

    If enabled, allows LogRhythm to collect the current license information, product version, and usage data for engineering purposes. No network or alarm data is shared.

    This setting is always enabled in NetMon Freemium.
  4. When you are done making changes, click Apply Changes.
