Add Applications to Blacklist

This section describes how to blacklist applications in NetMon. Adding applications to the blacklist stops NetMon from processing those applications—they will not appear in metadata, alerts, PCAPs, visualizations, or elsewhere in NetMon.

You can also exclude applications from packet capture while still collecting, processing, and reporting on them in NetMon. For more information, see Select Applications for Packet Capture.

To blacklist applications:

  1. Open the NetMon Web Management interface.
  2. On the top navigation bar, click Configuration, and then click the Filter tab.
  3. On the Filter Applications panel, start typing in the Enter Applications to Blacklist field. As you type, the field auto-displays matching characters from the application list. Select the application you want to blacklist.
  4. When you are done making changes, click Apply Changes.
Adding applications to the blacklist requires a restart of NetMon services. This process takes a few minutes.
