Run the Threat Intelligence Service Installer

Install a New Version of TIS

Threat Intelligence Service may need to update or install some services or software that require a system reboot to take effect. Prepare your system for reboot if necessary prior to beginning the installation.

To install the Threat Intelligence Service:

1. Download the Threat Intelligence installer from the LogRhythm Community.

2. Copy the installer to the computer where you want to install the service.
3. Right-click the installer, then click Run as administrator.

4. When the installer welcome page displays, click Next to continue.

   

   If you see a Pending Reboot message, reboot your system and launch the installer again or ignore this message and proceed.

5. Accept the license agreement and click Next.
6. To install the service in the default location, click Next. If you want to change the location, click Change, browse to the new location, and click OK.

7. To install the service, click Install.

8. (Optional) Select the Launch Threat Intelligence Configuration tool checkbox to launch the service configuration tool after the installation is complete.

9. To exit the installer, click Finish.

   

   The service is configured to start automatically when the operating system starts. The service will fail to start in any of the following cases: the EMDB is not accessible, the EMDB connection details have not been configured, the list_import path has not been set, or the list_import directory is not accessible.

Upgrade from an Earlier Version of TIS

Follow the steps below to upgrade from an earlier version of the Threat Intelligence Service. When upgrading from a previous version of the Threat Intelligence Service, your existing configuration will be maintained.

1. Download the Threat Intelligence installer.

2. Copy the installer to the computer where the service is currently installed.
3. Right-click the installer, then click Run as administrator.

4. When the welcome screen displays, click Next to continue.

   

   If you see a “Pending Reboot” message, reboot your system and launch the installer again or ignore this message and proceed.

5. When the Ready to Upgrade LogRhythm Threat Intelligence Service screen appears, click Install to install the service.

6. (Optional) Select the Launch Threat Intelligence Configuration tool checkbox to launch the service configuration tool after the installation is complete.

7. To exit the installer, click Finish.
