Modify User Profile Effective Log Sources Settings

This tab does not contain editable content. The Effective Log Sources tab displays the Log Sources to which the user profile has access, based on the selected Entities and any Log Source Lists or Log Sources that were specifically allowed or denied.

Effective log sources persist after you edit a Log Source Type list. To apply the changes, the list must be removed on the Log Sources Access Rights tab and then added again after you make all changes.

1. On the main toolbar, click Deployment Manager.
2. On the Tools menu, click Administration, and then click User Profile Manager.
   The User Profile Manager window appears and lists the existing User Profiles.
3. Click an existing user profile to select it, and then click Properties.
4. Click the Effective Log Sources tab.

In the Client Console, you can create a Log Source List for Entity A that includes one or more Log Sources from Entity B. If the selected User Profile only has permission to view Log Sources from Entity A, then Log Sources belonging to any other Entity—even if they are included in a Log Source List to which the user has access—do not appear under Effective Log Sources.
