Download the Knowledge Base File
There are two methods to acquire the latest version of the Knowledge Base file.
If you are not familiar with the customizations that have been made to your deployment, you should not proceed with the import until such knowledge is acquired, or you should contact LogRhythm Support for assistance.
Automatic Download
The preferred method is to set up Automatic Synchronization in the Knowledge Base Manager and check for updates directly from the Client Console. To enable automatic downloads, ensure that inbound firewall rules allow access from kb.logrhythm.com on ports 80 and 443.
If your Platform Manager appliance is deployed in a dark site, or otherwise has restricted or no Internet access, ensure that inbound firewall rules allow access from the following IP address, and ensure that ports 80 and 443 are open for it:
- 65.38.174.68
- Open the Client Console.
On the Tools menu, click Knowledge, and then click Knowledge Base Manager.
All windows must be closed to open the Knowledge Base Manager.The Knowledge Base Manager appears.
- Click Configure Synchronization Settings.
- Make any necessary changes.
- Click OK.
The Knowledge Base Manager checks for updates, download the Knowledge Base, and synchronize, as scheduled. - If you do not want to wait until the next scheduled download, click Check for Knowledge Base Updates.
Manual Download
If you do not have access to the Internet or if you prefer to manually download the KB, perform the following steps.
- Open the Client Console.
- On the Tools menu, click Knowledge, and then click Knowledge Base Manager.
The Knowledge Base Manager appears. - On the File menu, click Export Knowledge Base Request File.
- Download the request file to your drive.
The Export Successful message box appears. - Click OK.
- Close the Client Console.
- From a computer with Internet access, log in to the LogRhythm Community.
- On the menu at the top of the screen, go to the Documentation & Downloads link to access the latest version of the Knowledge Base.
The request screen appears. - Either upload the Request File downloaded from the Client Console or enter the License ID, Deployment ID, and the Product Version in the appropriate fields.
- Click Get Knowledge Base.
- Save the Knowledge Base file and transfer it to the computer on which the Knowledge Base is being updated.
