Add Network Records from File

 Only Global Admins or Restricted Admins with elevated View and Manage privileges can take this action.

To add new network records in bulk:

1. Create an input file using the following guidelines:

   • The input file must be a comma separated values file with the following fields in this order, specified from left to right, one network per line. It may be easiest to create the file in a spreadsheet program.

     Field	Required?	Format	Description
     Network Name	Yes	String	The name to give to the Network, up to 50 characters including spaces.
     Brief Description	No	String	A brief description of the Network, up to 255 characters including spaces.
     Additional Details	No	String	A more detailed description or other information that you want to include about the Network, up to 2000 characters including spaces.
     Risk Level	No	Integer	Assigns a corresponding risk level to the Network, as follows: 0: None (no risk) 1: Low-Low (lowest risk) 2: Low-Medium 3: Low-High 4: Medium-Low 5: Medium-Medium 6: Medium-High 7: High-Low 8: High-Medium 9: High-High (highest risk)
     Network Zone	No	String	The zone to which the Network should be assigned. If you enter a value for this field, it must be one of the following: Internal, External, DMZ If this field contains any invalid values, the Network will be imported with a zone value of UNKNOWN HOST ZONE.
     Network Location	No	country, country/region, or country/region/city	The location of the Network by country, region, and city. You can specify only a country, only a country and region, or all three values. Each value must be a valid selection from country, region, or city. For more information, manually add an Entity Network and review the valid options in the Location Selector. If the location field is invalid or not formatted correctly, the location will not be imported for the Network.
     Beginning IP	Yes	IP address	The first IP address in the IP range that defines the Network.
     Ending IP	Yes	IP address	The last IP address in the IP range that defines the Network.

     Example:

     CORP VLAN(1),XYX Corp (XYZ001-05000),123 Any Street,5,Internal,United States/Colorado/Boulder,192.168.1.1,192.168.1.255

     CORP VLAN(2),XYX Corp (XYZ002-05000),123 Any Street,5,Internal,United States/Colorado/Boulder,192.168.2.1,192.168.2.255

     CORP VLAN(3),XYX Corp (XYZ003-05000),123 Any Street,5,Internal,United States/Colorado/Boulder,192.168.3.1,192.168.3.255

   • The file should not contain a header row.
   • If any required fields contain invalid values, none of the networks will be imported.
   • You cannot import more than 50,000 networks at a time.
   • If the import file contains a network that already exists, or if the file contains any duplicate entries, the existing network is updated.
2. On the main toolbar, click Deployment Manager.
3. Click the Entities tab.
4. Right-click the Entity to which you want to add networks, and then click Add Networks from File.

5. Browse to and select the CSV file containing the networks you want to import, and then click Open.

   

   If you imported a large number of networks, the operation may take a short while to complete.

6. While still in the Entities tab, click the Refresh icon in the main toolbar.
   You should now see the newly imported networks in the Entity Networks panel for the selected Entity.

   

   To view the status of the import, click the Service Requests tab at the bottom of the Deployment Manager. If the import fails, you can review Console.log for more information. You can find Console.log in the following location: %APPDATA%\LogRhythm\logs
