Assign Agents to a Load Balanced Group
This section describes the process of adding Agents to a load balanced group, either one at a time or in bulk.
Assign a Single Agent to a Load Balanced Group
You can add a single Agent to a load balanced group using the Syslog and Flow Settings tab in the System Monitor Agent Properties window.
- On the main toolbar, click Deployment Manager.
- Click the System Monitors tab.
- Right-click the System Monitor you want to assign to a load balanced group, and then click Properties.
- Click the Syslog and Flow Settings tab.
- Check Enable Load Balancing.
- Open the Load Balanced Group drop-list and select the desired load balanced group.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
The Agent is successfully added to the load balanced group.Alternatively, right-click on an Agent, hover over Actions, and then click Assign Load Balanced Group. Select the desired group from the list, and then click OK.
Assign Multiple Agents to a Load Balanced Group
You can add multiple Agents to the same load balanced group at once using the Syslog Settings option in the Edit Properties menu.
- On the main toolbar, click Deployment Manager.
- Click the System Monitors tab.
- Select the multiple Agents you want to assign to a load balanced group.
- Right-click one of the selected Agents, hover over Actions, and then hover over Edit Properties.
- Click the Syslog Settings option.
Check Enable Load Balancing.
If one or more of the selected Agents is already assigned to a load balanced group, the Enable Load Balancing checkbox is filled with a dot.
Clicking the dot removes all Agents from any previously-assigned load balanced groups. Checking the now-empty box allows you to add all of the selected Agents to the same load balanced group.
- Open the Load Balanced Group drop-list and select the desired load balanced group.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
The Agents are successfully added to the load balanced group.
