- Open the NetMon Web Management interface.
- On the top navigation bar, click Configuration, and then click the Manage Users tab.
- Click Add user.
The Add New User dialog box appears.
Enter the username, role (see About User Roles below), first name, last name, and email address for the new user. All fields are required.The user account is created with the default password "changeme." The user must change this password upon first login.
- To close the dialog box without defining a user, click Cancel.
When you are finished adding the new user details, click Save.
The new user appears in the grid.For programmatic completion of this process, users can also be added through the NetMon API. First, hit the /api/login route to retrieve your API key, and then set the password with /api/me/actions/changePassword. For more information, see Web API.
About User Roles
Netmon users can be one of two roles: Admin or Analyst. The difference between these two roles is detailed in the chart below. Also note that the NetMon Web API also restricts certain routes to Admin-only.
