The API key is an authentication mechanism that allows you to query NetMon remotely. With this key, you can query NetMon through remediation scripts and pull NetMon data into your own user interface. The Search interface is an Elasticsearch API, so you can use third-party Elasticsearch clients, providing they support HTTPS and basic authentication.

To use the API key:

  1. Open the NetMon Web Management interface.
  2. On the top navigation bar, click Configuration, and the click the User tab.
The API Key panel appears at the top of the page.
  3. Copy the API key from the field and paste it into your script or application.

If you click New Api KeyNetMon generates a new API key, invalidating the current key and disabling access from any applications that are using it.
