Add a Log Source to an Active Collector

Only Administrators can take this action.

1. In the lower-left corner of the main screen, click the Administration cog icon.
   The Administration menu appears on the left side.
2. Under Integrations, click Collectors.
   The Active Collectors list appears.
3. Click the Collector Name to which you want to add a log source.
   The collector configuration details page appears.

4. In the upper-right corner, click Actions, and then click Add Log Source.
   The Add Log Source wizard appears and prompts you to select a log source type.

   

   The Add Log Source Wizard guides you through three (3) steps as you configure your new log source:

   • Select a Log Source Type
   • Confirm the Collector
   • Add Attributes

Log Source Type

The left side of the wizard shows a list of available log source types. 

To select a log source type:

1. Enter text in the search box or scroll through the list to find the log source type you want to add. For example, if you want to collect logs from Azure, enter Azure in the search box or scroll down the list to the section that shows Azure log sources.

   

   Some Log Source Type names may be truncated. Point to the truncated name, and the full name appears above the tile.

2. Click the log source type. For example, if you want to collect service health incidents that occur in Azure, click Azure Activity - Service Health.
   A blue box appears around the selected log source type, and details for that log source type appear on the right side of the wizard.
3. When you have selected to correct log source type, click Next.
   The Add Log Source Wizard advances to the second step of the configuration and displays the details of the Collector.
4. Click Next. 
   The Add Log Source Wizard advances to the third step of the configuration and displays attributes. 
5. Under Basic Information, enter a Log Source Name (required) and a description (optional).
6. Click Submit.
   

   The collector configuration details page appears.

   

   Upon successful onboarding of the log source, a confirmation message appears at the bottom of the page.

7. To view the newly added log source, click the Log Sources tab.
